His Time is Now.

During the first half of the 2016 Hurricane season, Dalton Geter had to fight the frustration of not being a starter for the Redskins. Geter saw some fellow sophomores and an occasional freshman contributing, while he was on the sidelines behind four Senior offensive lineman.

That all changed in week 6 against Huntington as Geter got his chance to join the starting offensive line. He never looked back. Geter started the remaining 4 regular season games for the Skins as well as the two playoff games. Dalton pointed to one game in particular last year, " during the playoff game at University game, we dominated the line of scrimmage."

Now entering his junior year, Geter is being counted on to solidify Hurricane's offensive line which was hit hard by graduation. He is not particularly worried, "we are looking good and coming together, Cole (Runion) is solid at Center, and (Michael) Watson looks real good blocking on pass rush with his speed and quick feet." He is also quick to praise freshman Hayden Cook, a recent transfer from Huntington, "he is a hard worker who can help us." As for his role, Dalton who has played Guard, has been getting some practice time in at Tackle, "I will play wherever they want me to play."

Whoever joins Geter on the offensive line he anticipates their role in establishing the run which will open up the Redskins passing attack.

As for the quarterback competition between Austin Womack and Nathan Roy, Geter is diplomatic, "both QBs are looking good so far and improving, I wish them both the best of luck."

As long as one is ready to lead the offense in the season opener versus Winfield. "We need to make a statement in the that game and then carry the momentum forward." As intense as the rivalry with the Generals is, Geter is also anxious for the Cabell Midland game, "I have that one circled."

When asked about a goal he has set for himself, Dalton is honest and pointed, "I need to prove myself and get the job done every practice and every game, I want to be All-State."

The time is now for Dalton Geter.
