McCutchen gets 1st Team All-State; 6 Other Redskins get recognition
Congratulations to Hurricane Junior Kicker Tim McCutchen who received the highest of post-season honors yesterday as he was chose first team AAA All-State.
Post season awards can get somewhat confusing. Here is a brief explanation on who decides the various honors.
All Kanawha Valley- Selected by sports writers covering high school football for the Charleston Gazette Mail.
All MSAC-selected by the coaches within the conference.
All-State-selected by sports writers covering high school football from around the state.
As for the rest of the Redskins honored, 2nd team All-State included Dakota Williams, Christian Hill, and Payton Lunsford.
The Special Honorable mention saw Curon Cordon among those honored.
While J.T. Cooper and Steven Shine were recognized as Honorable Mention.
Once again the Hurricane offensive line received no recognition, hopefully this oversight will have those returning lineman fired up and nasty next season.
