Redskins JV Beats Spring Valley 30-28


What is better on Labor Day morning than a football game? Well the sun soaked Hurricane JV fans saw a great one as Hurricane topped Spring Valley 30-28.

Spring Valley jumped on the Redskins early and built a 16-0 lead. However Hurricane battled back and pulled within 16-14 at the half.

Spring Valley answered as they opened the 2nd half with a long drive that lasted through the entire 3rd quarter, and was culminated on a short TD run on the first play of the 4th quarter. JT James made a nice tackle on the 2pt conversation and Spring Valley lead 22-14.

Hurricane answered quickly when Ismael Borrero found Chase Hager with a perfect 52 yard TD pass, when Borrero found the end zone on the Redskins 2 pt conversation the score was tied up at 22.

The young Timberwolves looking like their varsity squad as they responded and drove for another touchdown, but the Redskins held again on the 2 pt attempt and the score remained 28-22 Spring Valley.

However the dynamic Borrero was not done. This time he found #9 Gavin Bell in the end zone. Bell made a great adjustment on the ball and his catch tied the game at 28. Borrero used a nice stiff-arm to bully his way into the end zone and Hurricane led 30-28.

The Redskin defense held when Earin Kerwood intercepted a Spring Valley pass which looked to ice the victory. However a late fumble gave the Timberwolves another chance. However the Redskins defense was up to the challenge, led by a crushing hit by Riley Meadows on the SV quarterback.

Final Score 30-28 Hurricane as the JV moves to 2-0.
