Hurricane looks to build on last week's success.

Just thinking about last week's 40-10 win over Cabell Midland is enough to put a smile on any Redskins fan's face. Indeed it was one of the most complete victories in many years for Hurricane.

Which leads us to tonight's contest against Woodrow Wilson (2-2). This has the classic trappings of a letdown game.

First it is sandwiched between contest against two of Hurricane's biggest rivals in Cabell Midland and George Washington. No pun intended to Steve Edwards Jr.

Second Hurricane (2-2) owns a 5-1 record versus the Flying Eagles, who they beat 42-28 last year and walloped 41-0 in 2016.

Third this is Homecoming Week, which is a lot of funny for the students, but can serve as a major distraction for the team.

"Hopefully we can ignore all of the stuff that homecoming can present as a distraction," said Hurricane's Head Coach Jeremy Taylor.

Woodrow owns wins over Greenbrier East and Riverside, and has suffered defeats at the hands of MSAC rivals Huntington and Parkerburg. They are ranked at #13 while the Redskins sit at #16.

The Redskins defense has played well so far this season especially the last two weeks against powerful offenses in Capital and Midland. They have been led by senior linebackers Cameron Kimble and J.T. Cooper who lead the team in tackles and are hopeful in setting the tone early against the Flying Eagles.

Offensively Hurricane broke out of early season long doldrums with a stellar performance last week and Nathan Roy will try to keep it rolling, having Christian Hill in the backfield will help him do so. "We just need to go out and execute. If we do we will be okay," Stated Taylor.

NOTES: Retiring Principal Richard Campbell was honored by the student body during a Homecoming ceremony this afternoon.

The last time the Flying Eagles visited Hurricane they were stuck in interstate traffic causing the game to be delayed for over two hours.....leading to a surreal post game at nearly midnight.

PREDICTION: Hurricane starts slowly then pulls away in the 2nd half.......

Redskins 31

Woodrow Wilson 14
