Redskins enjoy Big Day at WCHS/FOX11 North South Football Classic

It was a steamy hot day as most of the state's best graduated Seniors strapped the helmet on one last time as High School players.

Although the North, benefiting from an interception return and a punt return, beat the South 42-20 at South Charleston High School our 3 Hurricane Redskins had big days.

Steven Shine played a solid defensive game. He was around the ball all day, harassing the North's QBs and RBs and had a fumble recovery.

Cole Runion played nearly the entire game at Center and battled all game long earning the South's Most Outstanding Lineman. "Best week of my life. I love all my new brothers." Cole said via Twitter.

Curon Cordon had perhaps the best ever North-South game by any Hurricane participate. Cordon had 8 receptions good for 116 yards and 3 touchdowns. Curon even threw a pass completing it for a 32 yard gain. For his efforts Cordon was named the South's MVP of the game.

"It was very special," Curon told the WV Gazette. "I played 3 years at South Charleston, to play my last game in high school here, feels really good."

Notes: Winfield's Andrew Huff threw all 3 TDs to Cordon and finished 15-30 for 209 yards passing. Buffalo's Ethan Burgess was 4-4 for 70 yards prior to leaving the contest with a shoulder injury.
