Capital outlasts Hurricane in a JV shoot-out 46-42
This one looked like it might be ugly early on...early as in the 1st play from scrimmage, as Capital went 85 yards on a pitch out to go up 6-0. Before the Redskins' could catch their breath the Cougars intercepted an Ismael Borrero pass and returned it for a touchdown and it was 12-0.......
A few plays later and after another interception, Capital ran it in for a 5 yard td and the Cougars were up 18-0.........The Redskins were done right??
Wrong! Hurricane stormed back as Tyrone Washington, showing off his offensive skills, scored on a 31 yard scamper, and then caught a 32 yard pass from Borerro breaking tackles on his way into the end zone to pull the Redskins to within 18-12.......5 TDs in the 1st quarter.......it was going to be that type of night.
After another long Capital TD by the exciting and super fast #3, Chase Hager found the end zone and when Borerro scored on the 2 point conversion Hurricane was within 24-20.
Borerro and Hager hooked up a second time on a TD pass with Isiah Williams adding the conversion as the Redskins kept answering Capital's scores.
By halftime the offensive show had Capital up 38-28.
Hurricane had a great effort especially on offense, in 3 games the JV has scored 121 points!!!, but 2nd half touchdowns from Williams and Washington were not enough to overcome Capital.
Final Score Capital 48 Hurricane 42.....
Just your typical 90 point JV game.......
Hurricane JV now stands at 2-1.
