Midnight Madness 2018
With some sleepy die hard Hurricane Redskins football fans looking on, and local television stations filming and interviewing, the Redskins conducted their first official practice of the 2018 season.
Outside of the late hour and the occasional interruption from the media seeking an interview, it was business as usual for the Redskins.
The Hurricane coaching staff ran their usual well structured practice, this one broken down to 18 timed intervals. Perhaps all that was missing was the music blaring from the speakers, an omission nearby neighbors were probably thankful.
When the offense and defense came together to run some plays, touchdown passes were hauled in by Gavin Bell and RJ Engel, 2 seniors playing for the first time at the varsity level. Coach Taylor seemed generally pleased with this some what abnormal first practice. Although DC Pratt could be heard expressing his displeasure toward some players on his defensive unit who may have been absent from July conditioning sessions.
Bottom line is that football is back and the fans are anxious for another season of Hurricane football.
Midnight Madness is also I good time to spot some alumni onlookers. the following former Redkins were spotted in attendance last night: Dylan Kimble, Wade Cole, Mason Giacomo, Lucas Cooper, Matt Hartleben, Tommy Butler, and of course Bubby Plumley.
